Kristie Coghill is the pastor’s wife at New Life Church serving alongside her husband, Scott. Last year, they celebrated 25 years of marriage. She received a bachelor degree in Bible with a minor in missions and education from Southeastern FWB College. Her heart has always been for her family and she has loved investing in one of her greatest callings of being a wife and a mom to the “Fab 5". A teacher at heart, Kristie spends her time during the week teaching high school English classes and leading as a supervisor in the upper elementary classes at New Bern Christian Academy. She is a wonderful wife, mother, and mentor to ladies young and old. Kristie is most passionate about women’s discipleship, worship music, teaching, and kids ministry.

Scott Coghill is the lead pastor at New Life Church overseeing the church’s ministries for over 24 years. He also serves as the administrator of New Bern Christian Academy. Pastor Scott graduated from Southeastern FWB College with a BA in Bible and Pastoral Theology. Last year, he completed his Masters Degree from Randall University. He and his wife, Kristie have five children- Makenzie, Kelsie, Micah, Kaiden and Matthew. He loves everything to do with ministry, spending time with family, coaching, and pouring his life into people. Pastor Scott is a passionate preacher, sound teacher of God’s Word and faithfully delivers the Word every week in a practical way. His most significant contribution to men’s discipleship has been the founding of God’s Man Ministries hosting many annual men’s conferences across the country for twenty years.

BJ Hamby has been married to her husband, Lance for 44 years. God has blessed them with two children and four grandchildren. BJ worked 31 years for Craven County Department of Social Services and also spent time serving at Vanguard Corporation. Her hobbies include hunting and fishing. She was born again in her late 20’s after living a “religious life”. Over the years BJ received a bachelors in Christian education and a masters in Christian counseling. She has also served as the teaching director for New Bern's Community Bible Study for 7 years. She made a large impact on her local community through her service on committees focused on helping families. From teaching at New Bern Christian Academy to leading a discipleship group, BJ continues to be a light for Christ.

Mrs. Rose Jones has faithfully dedicated her life to serving Christ, her family, and her church community. Born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, she came to know the Lord at the age of four during family devotions and later rededicated her life to Him as a teenager at The Wilds. Since marrying her husband, Jeff, in 1985, they have shared over four decades of marriage, ministry, and service together. In 1987, they began their ministry at Hilltop Church in Fuquay, where they have faithfully served for 39 years. Mrs. Rose also spent nine years investing in young lives through elementary education. Today, she continues her ministry through clerical service at her church, while passionately focusing on ladies ministry, discipleship, and building meaningful relationships with women of all ages. She has led discipleship groups for the past seven years and finds great joy in encouraging others through personal visits—whether at hospitals, homes, coffee shops, or even on the mission field. Mrs. Jones is the proud mother of two daughters, Stacie and Leslie, and a loving grandmother to Harper, Hudson, and Ryder. Alongside her deep commitment to ministry, she and Jeff enjoy traveling together, especially through cruising, with plans to explore the British Isles this year. Her heart for discipleship, hospitality, and intentional investment in others continues to leave a lasting impact for Christ.

Megan Berry serves faithfully alongside her husband, Matthew, the pastor of Graceway Church in Melbourne, Florida. Together, they have been joyfully married for 11 years and are blessed with four children, Ellie, Jack, Gracie, and Ruby. A graduate of Southeastern FWB College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Megan has a deep passion for teaching women God’s Word and encouraging them in their daily walk with Christ. Her heart for ministry is evident through her dedication to serving both her family and church community. In addition to her love for teaching, Megan enjoys playing piano, singing, photography, and gardening, using her many talents to glorify the Lord. Her desire is to inspire women to grow spiritually and live faithfully in every season of life.

Kevin Denton is the Worship and Connections Pastor at New Life Church. Pastor Kevin has served as a Worship Pastor and teacher for over 25 years. He is married to Susan, and they have 2 children, Meghan (23) and Miles (21). Pastor Kevin has earned an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Southeastern FWB College and a Masters in Church Music from Pensacola Christian College. He is currently completing his Doctorate from Liberty University. The Denton family serves together every week in worship ministry at New Life Church with a passion to see every generation love Christ and worship Him in every area of life.
